End of an Era.

I was on my way to work this morning listening to the radio they were talking about Rosie’s Diner in Rockford, MI, now being 7,411 miles away I thought it was real nice to be hearing about what was happening back home, but then I realized that they were selling!! They are putting the diner up for auction at the end of the month. I remember the days when my parents would take me to the diner and we’d play miniture golf and have a bite to eat. I also remember when my Mom worked for the Alzheimer’s Association, Rosie’s designed a t-shirt to benefit an auction at the time to raise money for Alzheimer’s which was held at Rembrandt’s where I worked in high school, which is located at the Varnum Bldg. (Bridgewater Place) where my father’s firm is. Yeah alot of good memories on the way to work this morning.

    Jerry,
What a pleasant surprise! I was pretty thrown back to have been hearing about the diner half way around the world..and a month before you go up for auction - It’s impressive because we won’t see the ball drop in Times Square for another week…I suppose radio stations use the internet to get the info out faster but TV here is taped in the states and mailed here and ussually 2 weeks behind. I was listening to 105 The Rock - I bet they would be interested in hearing that their story made it back to you. Good luck with the auction! And I’m sure my Dad won’t admit it but I’m almost postive that the shirt you designed is still in his closet, it was a popular article to take up to the lake, and for my Dad that’s saying alot since supplies to lake were limited.
