beware of boonie dog

I thought our washing machine was lopsided in the spin cycle…

…but than I realized that we already shipped our washing machine to Washington State. So what was the rumbling shaking our walls at 1030 pm - My FIRST EARTHQUAKE!!!! I don’t know who was more excited about it, me or my dog Jack Jack - he doesn’t ussually bark, not a peep but last night he was howling at the moon with all the other boonie dogs in the neighborhood- I went outside to see if anything was happening, I noticed my neighbor was watering her plants. Which I thought was strange being so late, my other neighbor came out on his balcony and we started chattering like school girls…Jane from across the street pipes in and asks “what are you boys talking about? What did you feel?” we laugh and say “the earthquake.” she replies “how long ago was that?” -as to mean days not moments- We continued to laugh and said “20 secs ago” all she could say is “is that why all the dogs are barking, I must have been watering my plants.” we just laugh and say goodnight….Stacy and Dorothy didn’t feel anything, they slept right through it. At 5.8 and 45 miles away it didn’t take much to impress me, everyone at work was saying oh yea that’s nothing we get those all the time…well since I didn’t have anything to compare it to except my washing machine I didn’t know any better.
